Hello, My friend uses a Connex 4300 hp in his rig and is having problems getting the swr's below 1.9-1.8 on 1 through 40. Strange thing is, when he installs one of his two other radios, the swr's come down to 1.2-1.3. He has replaced all the coax, made sure the antenna is well grounded and tried different antennas on different places on the truck as well. Im at a loss here and dont know what to tell him to try next. Does anybody else have some ideas we could try? Thanks very much for your help.

are you using an external wattmeter, or built into the radio? try a dummy load & see where swr is then. is meter recalibrated for radio with higher power....if the others are standard/lower power?
