Old Man Winter ie:
Freezing Rain, Hail, Ice, & Snow is almost upon some of us again. 
Are YOU & YOUR Station / Equipment ie: Antenna's, Coax & other OUTSIDE equipment ready?
PRE-WINTER CHECK:
#1 ~ Check ALL Coax to make shure it is in Good Condition with NO cracks, breaks, oxidation build up or LOOSE PL / Coax connector's.
#2 ~ Check ALL Coxal (PL-259 or other) out side connection's to make SURE that they are ALL Clean, Tight & Water Proofed with NO chance of any water leakage / seepage into them.
If there is oxidation on the Center Pin's of your coaxal connectors CLEAN THEM with Steel Wool or 360 sand paper to make sure that you have a Good Tight/Clean/Water Proofed connection.
#3 ~ Check ALL Antenna's, Antenna joint's, Antenna Mount's & Outside connection's for any damage that could/would allow any water/snow/ice seepage/damage to occur.
#4 ~ Check ~ Clean ~ Repair ~ Replace as needed ALL grounding connection's ie: Ground Rod's, Ground Wire, & connector's to make shure that they are ALL Clean, Tight and Water Proofed for Old Man Winter.
REMEMBER! 
Everything that You can do NOW to prepare / protect your station / equipment from Old Man Winter will save you a lot of head aches & work Later.

Nice advise Lon..
Stayed tuned for my future article on shack set up - that may not help you avoid problems, but will certainly make it easier to rectify them if they do happen.
