This
radio trans and mod fine. but doesn't receive
much, if you take and unscrew the coax and just put in the pin it
receives fine but when you push it all the way in so the ground makes
contact the receive goes away. But it still transmits and has a good
match. any ideas?

Sounds like a short somewhere in your coax. I would check all of your connections.
If the coax is wired to the antenna try using a different antenna and see what happens.
Somewhere the inner wire of the coax or the antenna is exposed to a ground.

Thanks but I check that this is the only radio that dose it and i have a 1to1.5 match so there shouldn't be any problem with the coax. but thanks
