Hey guys. I hope to get this 50" Push Up Pole up during July 4th holiday weekend. Obviously with it being a 50' pole, it is five sections. What is best guy wire to use for this? I am going to put my Antenna Specialists Super Scanner on it.
I should just use the Antenna Specialists Super Mag Omni Directional instead. Both antennas are still Brand New. Anyway, back to the guy wire. What is the best to use? And remember, when it is 50" from the top before you go out to hook it up to the ground or whatever, is a long way. Thanks for the guidance.

The last couple I did (for friends), didn't use wire but a kevlar based rope - 5 years and still standing.
Normally, I use standard TV mast guy, cut to 10ft lengths, with large insulators, thimbles and turn-buckles. I do not recall using anything less than 3/8th inch stuff. 30 plus years and I have not lost a mast/tower yet, although I will own to onme with a slight S-bend after a 100mph wind went thru..

Mounting and Guying:
1. After selection of a safe position of the mount, position anchor points for the guy wire/s.
2. Attach guy wire (4 places recomended) to the lowest guy ring and wrap wire at least 6 turns around itself, see figure 2.
3. Insert lower section of Telescoping Mast into mount,making sure the mast is in vertical position, and insure the guy wires at the anchor points.
4. Mount your antenna to the upper mast section, and secure transmission line with standouts.
5. Raise the upper section of the mast with the antenna until it reaches its stop. Tighten clamp with hex bolt to secure upper section in place.
6. Using a person at each anchor point to hold guy wires, raise each section and secure in place as indicated in step 5. (working from the smallest dia to the largest.)
7. After Telescoping Mast is fully extended, draw the guy wires taut (keeping the mast perfectly vertical) and secure to anchor points.
