How well does this beam work with it's design? When it's set for vertical and horizontal position, does it reject pretty good and does it do the job it's design for?

I ran one and still have it. Great antennas! Keep a good ground plane for local. In the L configuration the V-Quad ran the best for me. You can pole mount it on a TV rotor because of the light weight. On a pole be sure to guy it 120deg apart. I had mine on a tower at 50 ft to the bottom mounted to a 9ft stack boom with a 10 element 2m beam on one side.

Great choice !
