I got a 2000 Kenworth T-800 dump truck. I'm thinking of going with the Firestik No Ground antenna system, due to the cab being constructed of alum. and fiberglass...Any one have any opinions on these antenna systems??

I have tried a wilson 2000 but if i move it out on the mirror arm the SWR skyrockets...The only place it will work is on the mirror arms right up against the cab..and i'm concerned the dump body could be blocking some of the signal..

852;
I've used the 4' through 7' Firesticks with good results. I did find them to be stronger on TX than RX. It is a very narrow banded antenna. Biggest thing I'd say is watch overall height. I mounted a 4' on the right side mid way back on my Toyota P'UP bed, changed it to a 7'stick and the RX improved. I worked skip on a constant basis when it was in. Town to town 15 miles away I got great reports.
