I have just put in a Galaxy 949 in my 88 Ford BroncoII. I have it ran straight to the battery on 8 ga. wire through a 20 amp noise suppressor. Everything in the truck from the power widows to the heater blower puts noise through the radio. Is there anything I can do to get rid of it?

COuple of things that come to mind are:
1) run sheilded cable for both power wires. Ground the shield at one end only (avoids a ground-loop which could make things worse).

2) Figure 8 the cables thru a toroid core> That is wind half the core clockwise, then the secopnd half anti-clockwise.
3) Close to the radio take a 1uF cap and a 1Mohm resistor in series and connect it from the positive battery lead to ground. The cap should filter out any remaing noise and the reistor prevents massive current flow if the cap should short out, to around 12microAmps.

These three steps will kill 90% of automotive noise.
