No matter what radio i run in my truck, i can hook up the positive lead, and connect the antenna. The radio powers on without the ground wire connected..What causes this, and is it normal or something wrong in the system? I'm running a wilson 2000 on a mirror mount , on a 2000 Kenworth Dumptruck.... |

The radio is getting a dc ground through the antenna system (coax shield). You still need to ground the neg power wire for the radio though. |

I plan on grounding the radio with the negative power wire. I was just wondering was it normal for it to ground like this through the antenna system. Or was something wrong with the antenna or coax? |

Nope, nothing wrong. In fact, it means your antenna is well grounded. That is a good thing.
Still, be sure to connect the negative wire to a good ground anyway.
