Hello, and thank you for having this wonderful forum. I'm Jason, and I have a question. Has anyone heard of this mod? (MODERATOR NOTE- This is an edited down version of the text he copied and pasted from another forum) "Re: Replace MB8719 with MC145106 Leave the 8719 nearby and use pins 1-4 to filter the PD from 145106. Mod done mainly to give an exact 5kc jump using pin 17, by tying pin 6 to ground (FS=5 Khz steps) and shifting the PLL control lines from the channel switch along/up a pin on the PLL. You could of course use FS=1 to stay with 10kc steps. You will also double the available N-codes using this method, or x4 using 10kc steps. Same principle applies when doing this on an 02a radio." You think it would work? I'm contemplating modding a new Washington I had just picked up off of ebay. It's the Uniden model, and I believe the PLL was MB8719 for those. 73's |

After doing the math, if one uses a 14.010 Mhz crystal, with the MC145106, and "The Mod" or Digimax, they should be able to cover from 24.705 - 29.815. |
