Was wondering if anyone has done a 11m conversion on this radio and if is possible to do. Also are the tubes hard to find?

Said time and time before, why make a Ham radio to work on the 11 meter band when there is so many CB radio's to choose from and you don't mess up a great Ham radio just to get another band, It's not worth it. Stay out of it and enjoy the radio for what it is..

In early TS-830's, the WARC transmit was not enabled.
If this is the case, solder a jumper wire from Pin 12 of IC-23 to ground on the DIGITAL UNIT PCB. Ground can be obtained at Pin 8 of IC-4.

The Finals are 6146B which are plentiful. Should be able to use 6146w (heave duty version)....Google "6146 family" They are still being made and imported from china.

you can still find the driver 12BY7A even though audiophooles have driven the price up

The All-band transmit modificatéon requires the removal and re- location of a diode on the the digital board which is located behind
the front panel. The US version of the radio has diode D11 installed, and diode D9 removed. D11 must be removed, and installed in
the D9 position. This modification IS NOT for the faint of heart, as it entails removing the front panel, and the digital board. Note that
the digitál board has solder holes thát are through-soldered; that is, there are circuit traces on both sides of the board, so make sure
that ALL solder is removed from the holes. This modification will also allow the antenna tuner to tune anywhere the receiver is tuned.
This modification should ONLY be performed ây those familiar with soldering and de-soldering techniques, and requires patience, and
dexterity.

thanks i found and easier way by just added a toggle switch to a wire on the pll board on a 6 pin plug. thank you. one other thing if anyone would know i have a mc-60 on the radio now and have tried my silver eagle on the radio. there is a hot pin because i removed the battery from the mike and it still works. question i have is can i dissconnect the hot pin wire and use a battery or is the way it is know fine. i get good clean audio with the silver eagle but not much punch and with the mc-60 more drive but not as clean for some reason. wondering if anyone has any ideas or if maybe the silver eagle is a bad choice for the 830. hope someone can help. thanks mike
