I was wondering if there is a way to construct the Maco 3 element antenna to work CB and 10 meters CW and USB voice portions?
I would be mounting the Maco 3 element horizontally.
On CB I stay above channel 20, mostly on channel 38 LSB.
On 10 meters I never use the 29MHZ portion so that is not important to me.

There are a few ways to go.
1. Mount the Maco 3 element horizontal with a GP above it.
2. Buy the M103C-HV instead. Now you have 2 beams, a Vertical 3 element for CB and a Horizontal 3 element tuned to 10 meters.

Mscott, I have tuned my M103 for about 27,500,flat, and I have good SWR for 38 LSB and for the voice part of 10 meter, 2 or below depending where I land. Included with the antenna should be a chart showing how to adjust the antenna for these freqs. Good Luck! |

392's experience is the exception, but normally the bandwidth on a gamma fed yagi is too narrow to do what you are asking.
The suggestion of buying a dual polarity beam and using the vertical portion for CB and the horizontal for 10m ham is a good one. Lots of people do that with great success.

If using a dual polarity beam, why no mention of the Maco Comet antenna?
Seems to have better front to back, db gain, and lighter then the M103C-HV.

To Comet or not to Comet!
It goes back to proper length for the band. The wire reflector on the Comet will have a hard time tuning to both bands while the M103C-HV can tune independant and still offer benefits of a quad. Don't believe every rating you read.
