Hi, new here.
I have a Midland 1001z that has an issue.
It is almost like the pll is coming unlocked. The power out drops to almost nothing and the receive drops off to almost nothing.
But a good smack brings it back so I warmed up all the solder connections in the oscillator section.
Thought I had it but it came back.
I noticed if I use a alignment tool and press around the oscillator section I can hear the static come up on receive.
Any thoughts? I like the little radio and don't want to pitch it unless that's it.
