Has anyone ever tried to use a 3 element beam at a 45 degree angle to try to get the benefits of both horizontal and vertical? I don't know if I have ask this before but I was wondering if anyone has tried this and what were your results? |

I have been reading lot ham's have done this but I can not find their result's of good or bad |

I tried it a few years back and it worked good on skip but really made local talk suffer on both vertical and horz.
DX is the next best thing to being there.

Thank you very much for the information. Here where I live it has a lot of tall mountain's and my antenna is 750 foot up a mountain to the end of my property. I guess I will have to purchase the Maco 3 element and fix it vertical or horizontal with a antenna switch. You just saved me a lot of work and trouble and I thank you very much. never tried it..but definately know people that have..imo i feel you wouldnt get any benefit from verticle or horizonal cause its halfway between both..again just my 2 cents

It will be disappointing.
The difference between vertical and horizontal is 20 dB into an opposing polarized antenna. That means you're splitting the difference. So, if you want your signal to be 10 dB lower to everyone that is "normal" (vertical or horizontal), then go for it.
For DX, it won't matter.

Thanks TECH 833 AND DALE, I am going to have to purchase another MACO 3 element beam and put it with the one I already have so I can switch between vertical and horizontal, I contacted MACO and they sent be the instruction's on the to put it together. GOD BLESS AND THANKS |
