Had to break the silence so I came up with a question to ask.
In an amplifier, when a transistor shorts, does the dc going through the transformer cause damage to the ferrites? I have read that certain ferrite material, like type 61, can be damaged by strong magnetic fields. I know it is only a few turns, but its a lot of current, so I'm curious.

Health issues don't always allow me to check on here as much as I'd like.
Re ferites, to my recollection it is not so juch current itself that may damage ferrite but the resultant heat that can cause the glue binding the material to weaken or fail.
