I have a 148GTL that i just got not to long ago but it has a horrible hum on tx. I took the covers off and it looks like someone has been into it before.. Maybe some channels added?? Im not real sure this is kind of new to me. But when i switch the dim switch or the high low switch it gets very quiet on the recieve. anyone got any suggestions??? Also what channels may have been added and how do i use the extra channels. I know this may seem like a stupid question but i am still new to the mod world.

Channels are 26.815 to 28.045 Mhz using the swiches on the radio. As for the hum , The channels were added incorrectly and most likely the B+ was pulled off the Audio IC and is getting feedback through it..Sounds like you need an overhaul...
