I have a cobra 148 gtl with the 5 pin male plug in the radio, I don't have a mic for it and I am wanting to wire in a 4 pin male plug like most cobra'a have, I need to know what color wire does what in the radio to do this, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanx in advance for any help.

It would be much easier just to change the plug on the end of the mic you want to use. Wiring is as follows.

1) Modulation
2) Ground
3) Receive
4) N/C
5) Transmit

Of course if you want to change the plug on the radio all you need to do is swap out the wiring on the 5-pin to a 4-pin. Change the wires on the radio from the pins on the 5-pin designator below to the pins on the 4-pin designator.
