I have a predator antenna with the aluminum coils on it, I was thinking I could put it on a 25 foot high antenna pole out side and it might work until I can get on bought, also this will be on a base unit. |

Does this antenna have coax already attached to it or does it have a 3/8" lug attachment with a SO-239 on it?

38 bucks and you got a ANT99 from copper mount it on that same antenna pole and its all good |

Copper fan, I looked on copper and didnt find anything that says it is a ant99? I drove truck and really didnt get in to playing with my radio much, so guess I am new to this, also I bought a cobra 89 xlr, can you tell me anything good about it? |

I have it mounted on a 20 foot high pole, with a mount like you would use on a mirror brackets that are on a truck, with beldon coax. |

The first two items on the page are the Solarcon A-99 ($38) and the Solarcon A-99 with the Ground Plane Kit (GPK) ($65).
Like Copper Fan said, mount this puppy to the mast you already have, use some good coax, and "it's all good"!

Hi Tim I have a predator mounted on my 14'ft. Aluminum Boat next to my room out side and it works good. I tride mounting the antanna on a pold but no ground plain but on the Aluminum boat it works Greate. |

eh
leave that ant on the car and run rg 8 or better from the house and bump it up. your gona need the coax anyways, so buy that fat coax first .then a base ant .
i would get a Small beem for a around a $100 |

I built a 1/2 wave slopper using speaker wire and cut up some detergent bottles for insulation. If you are on a budget, this is the way to go. There is a slight gain in the direction of the slope and it works just great. Cut a 108in. section of speaker wire, seperate it into two pieces. Use cut up pieces of heavy plastic like from a Tide Bottle, attach the hot side(center) of the coax to the upper leg and the ground to the lower leg. Also insulate the ends with plastic. I use just standard stove bolts to attach the conductors. Place it the higher the better. Check the swr, and trim to a good reading.
The antenna can also be placed horizontal for horizontal polorization. A fun project and it does work great |
