Does anyone have any mods for the Ol' D-104 that could possibly remove some of its famous "Tinny" sound or any other mod?

I use a piece of felt cut to fit over the element. It works like Honky Tonk Man describes, plus you can make them out of whatever color you want. I have a red piece of felt over the element in my D-104. Looks rich!
