i have this tr696f-ssb when i flip the nf switch the recieve drops almost to nothing already replaced the switch with a factory replacement but stills does the same.one thing is when i unplug the radio from the power source and plug it back again and turn the radio the recieve works great untill i flip the switch then i lose it again.any idea's

sounds like a leaky cap that is shorting under a load, and staying shorted until power is removed. those are my least favorite repairs. if you don't have an rf gen, audio gen, and scope, and most importantly a schem, my suggestion would be to send it in to 307. that would be the easiest and fastest way for you to find and fix your problem.

hi doublemm;go check rangers site at the updates or technical page.(something along those lines anyway) i keep thinking i saw something referring to that problem. a little 3-prong jack has to be removed and turned 180(degrees)then re-installed.
i hope my memory serves me right(and you too!)
