I just installed the galaxy DX 959 I purchased from Coopers along with a Wilson 5000 mag antenna. Other than alot of static and engine noise, The radio works great(Gonna install a noise filter). However, the meter on the radio does not work. Am I doing something wrong? I read the instructions just in case I missed something but the meter doesn't register swr, modulation or power output. Every thing lights up including the meter but no display. I just checked the swr with an external meter and the swr is great. 1.21 on ch 1, 1.28 on ch 40 and 1.09 on ch 19. I am gonna continue to use for a few days to make sure everything else is ok. Any suggestions will be appreciated. thanks, Doug

P.S. I installed the 20 amp line noise filter and it helped.

Hello 307, No the radio is not in the PA mode. As a matter of fact, It works great. Drove into Charlotte and back and had a few compliments on how the radio sounds. Its just the meter sits on the far left and does not respond. I like it so much, I may just do without the meter due to the fact I don't want to take the radio back out for repair. I cannot open the radio because there is a sticker on the side that says void if opened. Doug

Roadhazard35 , I am OK'ing you to look in the radio to make sure a wire did not come off the meter. Either way , I will take care of it for you free even if the tag is cut. You may just find a plug loose.

Good news 307....The plug was not connected on the long board behind the switches. I reconnected and tested. Thanks a million. Meter works for all three modes. You have a very satisfied customer. I appreciate the time you take to answer these questions and for all the help. Thanks, Doug
