Hello,

Every time I turn my radio off it resets. The only thing that does not reset is the preset memories, but the last channel and the other settings are gone every time. Could it be my battery is old? I would appreciate any help.

Thanx
Victor

PS: My 2950 is the old radio with the orange screen.

My 2950 does the same thing. Did it right out of the box. I looked inside behind the control/display panel and found no battery or place for one. I know some have them, but this one does not.

Sure sounds like a battery that is just on the edge of being gone. It may do psychotic stuff like putting gibberish on the screen when the battery falls just a little more. My Turbo (same computer with the battery) would key and stay keyed when powered on when one battery got old. Sure annoyed some neighbors one night before I replaced it.
Now, I just assumed that your radio has the battery. The quickest way to tell requires that the little black "beep" speaker is still hooked up inside. The faint, high-pitched beep that goes with pressing one of the function buttons under the display is the clue: If your radio does NOT make this beep when you key the mike, it's the old one WITH a battery. If it beeps when you key and unkey just like you had pressed the 'MAN' or 'shift' buttons, it is a newer version of the orange display/computer, and has a capacitor inside, instead of a battery.
