not trying to start anything, but why does it seem to me that so many of the questions on here are answered with the phrase, 'email me'? if this forum is meant to help everyone, wouldn't it be better to answer questions here on the forum??

We don't want to take up to much room on the forum. Some answers can get lengthy.

When I ask someone to "drop me a line", it's usually because I need to do back and forth correspondence. It's faster and doesn't tie up the board with "do you have a soldering iron?".

Exactly...When something is directed towards ONE person and it becomes long winded , sometimes it is easier to discuss it on a phone or A.O.L. instant messenger in which we do on occasions. Also if a "repair" is needed , information is transferred via email instead of the Forum. I have walked repairs all the way through on A.O.L. while the person was "fixing" the radio.
