basically i was wondering if you can use a rf driven linear such as a texas star or something with a regular kenwood or alinco just attached to the antenna output without a remote line or what would be a correct ham linear to attach to a alinco dx70t that will run hf plus six meter?? thanks guys.

Yes it will work without a remote. The remote is only used when the amplifier does not have an RF detection circuit.

As for 6 meters, Mirage makes an over priced 6 meter amplifier. It retails for 400 dollars and only puts out 150 watts. You may be able to find a used one for $250. I am working on converting a klv300p to a 6 meter amp, and will keep every one posted.
