Can someone tell me what output wattage an SRF 3479 pill is rated for?

Thanks!

747,
By chance did you mean SRF3749? The 3749 is 80W / w/flange.

If not I will keep checking.

That might be it... They are installed in an older Boomer Deluxe 250...

747, I checked my books for the BOOMER 250 and it listed MRF454 in Schematics but the MRF-454's are also 80 Watts so they could have been replaced with the SRF-3749's.

Hope this helped you some.

If you are going to be working on it and need the schematics, e-mail me and I can send them to you

The early model Boomer 250s and their predecessor the Avenger 250 used SRF3749 transistors. They later changed to MRF454 for lower cost. They will interchange (80w rated) but the SRF is a higher duty cycle and more responsive to lower drive levels.

671, Thanks I did not have anything on the early Boomers.

747, The schematics I have are for the newer Boomers so it might not help you much.

Is that 80 watts carrier or swing?

This would be factory rating of 80w AVERAGE power per transistor @ 12v with 2.5w AVERAGE power input.

In the real world a pair of 3749s or 454s should have around 2.5w carrier input and yield about 100w carrier out. 20w peak input should yield around 220w peak out on the 454, about 250 on the 3749 @ 14v.

FM about 150 watts, AM/SSB about 100 watts

Above that I doubt it will be clean.
