is this a good choice for a meter for those of us who cannot afford a Bird? is that frequency counter accurate?? any thoughts of a more accurate meter or one with better functions????? for about the same price range ????

For a CB'r , that meter is fine and fairly accurate.

Please explain your " would this be a good choice". What do you use AM , SSB , POWER , MOBILE , BASE , Power Supply , Antenna , Mount , Solid State Amp , Tube Amp , ect....

i use AM FM SSB ant99 with ground plane kit and its a stock power 2970DX that i use as a mobile with a 102inch stainless whip and carry into the house for a base in the evening and im very new into radios and would like to experiment with mods like modulation power and stuff like that
did that help for info????

Ok , I see , yes the DOSY is an excellent choice for the 2970DX , I use the Dosy 4001 , I have had one for many years.
