I have a new 2995x that gives a thud or thump through the speaker when keying up. This happens with the stock mike and with the volume all the way down. As a matter of fact, the thud is the same volume no matter were I set the volume control. The sound appears to bypass the volume control. This same thud is heard when turning the unit on. The thump is making it painfull to use the radio with headphones as I would like to do. I've asked other 2995dx owners about this, but it seems that the thud is not normal when using a stock mike. Could you offer an opinion or fix for this problem?

Thanks

Megahurts,

Try calling RANGER Tech Support at:

1-800-446-5778

or e-mail: techsupport@rangerusa.com

Explain your problem and the techs are very willing to help.

After I searched for a week for the elusive D67 I finally called them and the tech got on line and walked me thru it.

Wish I could help you on this matter, but I have never heard of this problem with a stock mic before.

Hope this will help you some.

Lon

After a quick thought , this came to mind. Install a 470 uF Non-Polorized capacitor in series with the hot side of the speaker wire. If the frequency response is different and you don't like it , add a .01 uF in parallel with the 470.

I hear the thud on one set of headphones, but not on another set.
