hello, can anyone help me figure out that when someone talks to me the needle never goes over all the way, is there an adjustment for this, and is there a if gain in the radio, even at night i can't open rf gain all the way, i think the tech open it to high, can you give me the adjusment numbers

MIKE,

Your needle "SHOULD NOT" go all the way over when someone is talking to you. Everybody's Signal will be different due to Different Radio's, Antennas, Location. You can have two people who live right next to each other and they will throw different signals to you. Do not try and change it as it is probably set correct.

Hope this helps!

Aligning the rx section requires a bit more than a slight adjustment of VR "blank".
The "S" meter can be adjusted using VR 1.

thank's tech 671, which way do you turn vr1 is it clockwise, it needs just a slight adjustment. plus you said the receive takes more than and adjustment, this radio receives real good it just seem's that it is noisy even at night. I know on a cobra or unnidenn you can turn the if gain down a little and it still receives good with less noise. thank you alot mike

On the Uniden/Cobras some have a master IF adjustment that has no bearing on the rx alignment. The General does not which is why I mentioned the rx alignment. Turning vr1 clockwise adds resistance and lowers the S meter reading. *If I remember correctly, haha*
