Hey I do have a question, can you actually stack one amp on top of another amp,I am really out of room on my bench, if so how much air flow is needed between them, and will they cause an electronic problem within each other,

not if they are both running(driver and amp) I wouldnt reccomend it.
Maybe if the otherone is turned off. |

Ok again thank you, yes one would be turned off, and I would use only one set of jumpers, and possibly put a piece of wood between then as I can see from here on yourset up.
I am interested is seeing if there is really a good amount of watts, modulation on ssb with your amp. klv550 ,might look at the vip model |

Yes it can be done.
I knew a guy that ran 2 TX star 500s into 2 antennas mounted on either side of his cab on his PU and they worked great! he co phased them thats how he got it to work.. |

It can be done no doubt but I wouldnt run 2 amps one on top of another while both keyed. I think its asking for problems. |

Hey, KarateButcher,
You make it sound like only one of them will be hooked up at a time. If so, the one that is unhooked can't cause any trouble. Until you hook it up, it's just a doorstop. Just don't block the air flow to the one that is running.
Please, resist the urge to put them BOTH in line at once, saying "I'll only turn one of them on at a time". Even turned off, the 'standby' side of an amp built for radio drive will suffer damage if too much passes through it EVEN ON STANDBY. The keying circuit is usually the first thing to go. Being turned off won't protect that circuit from overdrive damage.
