someone told me the galaxy 48t over heats and burns up.i was thinking of geting one,what is your opinion? thanks jyd

Modulate long enough on any high performance radio rf amp combo and you'll burn out the finals.Why,you ask?Most of them aren't built heavy enough to take the heat,and HEAT is the bane of all electronics.Copper will probably come out with a fan kit if this the problem,IMHO.

My philosophy is to keep the power and the radio seperate, and if it's got the ability to blow smoke, tune it down and use it to drive an external amp. That way the high power design radio will really last forever. Power means heat and that seems to be related to so many radio failures. Let an external amp take the beating. If it fails you're still on the air unscathed. $40 will get you an amp that throws the power of the 48t.
