I'm getting ready to purchase a new base set up lke the 'RCI 2980wx' and I heard somewhere that it might not work with a KLV 350 amp. It only works with solid state amps"transitor" not tube amps.. Has anyone heard of this before I decide to spend my hard earned money on a new base unit. If not what will work good with a klv350 base amp amp?

Bullet215,

You should have no problem whatever with hooking it to any tube type amp as long as you do not over drive it. I have a friend with a 2980wx hooked to a Palomar 300Z and he has had no problem's at all with it.

I have yet to find an AMP that can tell what kind of radio be it "tube or transitor" that is giving it power.

The main concern to address with any AMP is to not OVERDIVE it with too much power!

Just my thoughts!
