Put an older Skelelton 100 in my P/U and wired direct to the battery. Radio (galaxy 88) is wired direct as well. I use a mag mount antenna on this truck. When I key and talk the Mike spring at the bottom of the mike (astatic 636L) burns like an open wire. The screen burns as well. Tried a palomar 250 instead of the skeleton with the same results. The radio gets out fine. Also tried the skeleton with a Connex 3300 with same results. Gets out great but burns. Both radios key 2.5 and swing to 18 on low. Why am I frying ?

Lack of ground somewhere. Try running a 10 or 8ga wire from the chassis of the amp to your frame.

Ran a piece of common extension cord wire 8" from one of the screws on the amp and put an alligator clip on the other end. Clipped it to the under seat frame and the RF feedback seems to have diappeared. Thanks.
