Adjust VR-10 to where ever you want...Some CB Tweeker probably tried to peak it and messed it up.

SWAMPER,

Look to back of Radio with front facing you and to the right of the Final 1969 (or should be) attached to back of radio in front of that you will see Tuning Coil L-36 then you will see D-49 and right in front of that towards the front of radio you will see D-10.

The numbers in the older President Washington's often wear off.

These are one of my all time favorite radios, I have about 20 of them around here both the President's and Uniden's.

Hope this helps!

Lon

There are "2" type Washingtons , you must have the older one which IS VR-12 , the newer one is VR-10.

hey tech 808, can you give me a walk through for mods on the older president washington please, My modulation is worth a and my recieve is also worth. Can only mod about 4-6 miles and recieve about 7 miles poorly. Have this radio hooked up to a Antron 99 that is about 20 feet in the air also my meter does not do anything it barely moves whenever i key it up but I do have it matched to the antenna at 1.2 SWR.
