I am going to be mounting this antenna on a metal building with a metal roof approx. 60'x30'. It will be on one end but centered at the peak. Practical height limits me to about 25'AGL or 10' above the peak of the roof. I also have a TV antenna, not at the peak but about 8' from where the IMAX will be mounted. It is 6' above the peak to the top of the UHF collector. Given these restrictions should I stay closer to the roof (1-2'), get just above the high point of the TV ant, or raise it to my practical 25' limit? I am hoping for favorable results using the roof as a ground plane and expecting TVI problems. I'm usually on the satellite dish feed except for local news (dish isn't a factor here). What are your thoughts?

Mount it as high as you can. You shouldn't see any problems with interfernce on the tv ant unless 1) you are mounted directly above it2) you are running an amp. As long as everything is properly gounded I don't see a problem with this installation.

Damyankee,

I would suggest at least 36 feet but, if you cannot go that high, always go as high as you can.

And Ground it well!
