307 I have a Texas Star 500 when it is turned on it keys up right then and the preamp does not work. Got any ideals thanks Flash

Simple common problem. The keying transistor is shorted. It is a $20 dollar fix...

There are only "2" small transistors in that amp (Not the so called Pills) take out the guess work and replace them both , you can get them at Radio Shack.
