I bought a "New" Cobra 148 GTL on EBAY that had a manufacture date of 1993 and it was assembled in Malaysia. When the engine is off the radio receives fine but when the engine is running the alternator noise is loud and annoying. The radio transmits the alternator noise also. I own 3 Uniden Grants from 1989 and 2 Texas Ranger 296s and these radios DO NOT have the alternator noise what so ever so the problem is not my charging system. The local Technician (retired)told me that Cobra in the early 90s had a run of 148s with this problem. The seller will not refund my money and blames the noise on something I'm doing wrong which is nonsense. Are there any techs out here that might know what could be wrong. I have $150 plus $25 on a noise suppressor invested so far and still a bad noise. Has anyone had any experience from years ago with these defective 148 models?
I have bought my last item off of EBAY.

Webmaster please delete this entire topic. I traded the radio in "as is" towards a Connex 4800.
