Pull the transformer out and do a bench test, being careful to thoroughly insulate the connections of the power cord so as not to electrocute yourself, then test the output of the transformer. There is a small circuit board for the connection of the power cord and transformer internal of the radio,I beleive it's underneith, check ALL those connections first with a circuit tester, remember when plugged in to outlet the voltage present on that little board can kill you,so be very careful or take it to a tech,or disregaurd this whole diatribe if you are a tech because know more than I already.

Radiodude one more thing, when I got my eagle 2000 and did the multi-band mod.I noticed the little board in bottom was loose and power cord was loosening from board ,I knew it was a matter of time to no power so I repaired it right then.
