Swamper I have the TFC 3001 that I use with a radio that has a frequency counter. Both counters stay matched. The reason is: There are three conections to make. 1. Coax input 2. Coax output 3. 12VDC input. The unit comes with an inverter for the 12VDC. This is the source for the frequency pick up. Hope this eases your mind |

The external counter will work ONLY on AM transmit. It WON'T read while you are receiving. It will deliver a steady reading ONLY with the AM carrier turned up high enough, and the mike gain turned down low enough. When you use SSB, it will just jump all over the place. Likewise, AM modulation will disturb the steady reading you get with a QUIET, unmodulated AM carrier. If you have variable key, you may have to turn your carrier up higher than normal to obtain a steady reading. 73 |
