Does anybody own one of these? What kind of wattage should you get out of these little 1 pill's?? Are they used as drivers for bigger boxes?

Typically 100-120w output, yes they are usually used as driver for larger amp. |

Thanks! Does Copper sell these Tx Star modulators or not? I looked but didn't see them.
Also, did Copper drop the 667V?? One time, I was looking around the Copper site and found the 667V under a totally different category than amps for the mobile??? Maybe I'm wrong?? I have searched the Copper Talk Forum to get an idea of peak watts for the 667V,... 500-750W??? Is this right?

Forum Master Note : We stopped stocking the modulator because we were having around a 30% failure rate.

that is a typical failure rate when people overdrive those little things(the mod v's). you can't dump full power of a radio into them and expect them to last long.
for the 667v, they run 'clean' up to about 525-550wpep. semi-clean to 600w, and on the dirty side after this(with max power below 700w).(another amp that you don't want to put much power into) |

What kinda dk and swing for the modulator + is recommended? I was thinking about just running the modulator ONLY. Can it take a little swing from a General Lee or a VR9000???? These swing to about 40+ easy.......

I put my General Lee inline with the TX Star Mod. and when I turn on the pre-amp, I lose receive. When I turn it off the receive comes back (stock radio receive). I put a different radio inline and the pre-amp works just fine and gives me additional receive and is loud.
What is happening here??????????
Also, I can only adjust the dk for the modulator to about 10W with 1W dk from the General Lee. It swings to about 110W on a Dosy though with this wattage. Why can't I adjust the dk any higher on the modulator??? I have the TX star modulator plus with the internal knob "dial a watt" knob inside the modulator. I didn't get any instructions with it so does the dk from the radio need to higher,... say 2.5-3W's???

Ease the internal adjustment of the General (AM low power adj inside) up to 2w. This should bring modulator up to 25-30w.
I have seen that problem before but have no clue why it does that with some radios?! |

HEY Xlaxx i got the same problem outta my general lee and a killer bee ex 250 hdv.
I never got the thing to work right and no 1 around here could figure it out (just my luck).
so i just bought another amp and use the killer bee as a back up (since i dodnt like it any way lol). |

I'll try adjusting the dk,... I kinda tinker with stuff but the modulator swings to about 120W which is pretty nice for how much $ I paid for it. Well that kinda chaps me about the receive though. I just bought this modulator to get outta the neighborhood a little bit. I usually use my General Lee and Palomar 250 in the mobile, pre-amp works fine in it.
