Is this a radio you bought new 2 months ago, or a ten year-old radio you recently bought? Is the transmit equally weak on BOTH AM and SSB? That little detail would help determine what to check next.

Is the receiver REALLY receiving like it did before, or are folks you talk to regularly showing an S-unit or three less than they used to? That's a big detail on this radio. Really.

Had a similar problem a while ago with one I fixed.Turned out to be a bad capacitor in the mic amp circuit. You need a scope to trace a audio injection in through the mic input to the mic amp circuits to find the problem. This one was a tantilum type blue teardrop capacitor which are notibly unreliable. No -scope? Look around tr33 through to tr27 and check those capacitors around there. As I said the blue blob type one is your most likely cause.

cheers Adrian
