Hello, Does an antenna Matcher/Tuner go between an amp and the transmitter? Also the PDC 30 Antenna Matcher has no instructions as to use. My Swr's are fine, looking for help on Tuning a wider bandwidth than .500 mhz with a quality Antenna Wilson 5000. What does the Tune adj do,? Is the Load adj for High SWR's? Any help by Tech ####, or someone would be great. Thanks in advance, Climber |

Ultimately, the tuner would go right at the antenna base. However, that is impractical. In the normal installation, you would install the items you mention in this order: 1- Two way radio 2- Amplifier 3- SWR meter 4- Tuner 5- Antenna |

1- Key radio. 2- Observe SWR on SWR meter. 3- Alternately turn knobs on tuner until SWR is lowest. |

Hello Tech833, I understand that area, the use of this PDC-30 is to help reduce SWR's to a reasonable level. Two seperate knobs, labeled differently. Did not realize SWR was the single "common" Tuning & Load adjustment Goal of both controls . I got it, now. Thanks again, Climber |

Tuning is supposed to adjust the resistance, loading is supposed to adjust the reactance. When the reactance is zero and the resistance is 50 ohms, you will have minimum SWR. My above explanation was the short version. |
