Hello everyone, I just recived my radio today and I think that it is fantastic! The only problem that I have come across is that when I use an Astatic D-104 m6b, or any of my other POWER MICS with the echo is that the Talkback makes terrible feedback. I enyoy using a power mic and would also like to use the built in echo feature on this radio so would it be possible to disable the talkback and still keep the echo. Preferably I would like to connect the talk back to a small switch. If this is not possible, which resistor is in line to the internal speaker?

Any help?

I have one of the first VR-9000's and yours MAY be different , however , towards the rear of the Echo Board should be a blue wire (mine is blue) that connects to a point near the back of the radio on the mother board. It is a wire all by it self soldered to the Echo Board. Try to cut this wire , I did and my talkback went off but the echo stayed on. put a switch in line and you have it...

Hello 307, I Thanks for your reply. I did not see any blue wire on the echo board. The boards # is a kuotiang 2194v-0/eptossb50c

Ther is one resistor labled r30 5 plug in clips and one small capacitor. the plug ins are for the echo power, time, finaly ther is one large capacitor. Would the resistor be the key to the talkback?

I think that I have a different version of the Voyage 9000 307. I do appreciate all of the help. There is no blue wire on the echo board of this unit. I tried to unplug one of the plug ins to disable the talkback and inturn there was no audio output at all.

There is a resistor marked R174, when I got my VR9000 the talkback didn`t work. I changed that from a 10k to a 2.2k and it gave me just the right talkbalk. You may try changing it up to a 12-15k and see if it quiets it down.

a red wire goes from the back of the echo switch to the pcb with 2 resistors soldered at the board clip the wire and add a switch to it to turn the echo on and off .presto talkback gone until you turn it back on.
