have a 2001 freightliner with cophase wilson 2000 stoped swr at 1 to 1 moving they go to 2.5 to 1 any idea why? Can i run 400 watts without hurting the truck computer? |

Wind moving the antenna closer or farther from the door will change the SWR , the AVERAGE SWR is ok , you can run your amp with no trouble. At worst the idle may drop OR your cruise control (if any) will shut off if you use the CB at the same time , it will not hurt it though.. |

r beeman : Just to be on the safe side you may want to read your Freightliner Corp.warranty manual.Some of the manufacturers with not repair electronic failures caused by excessive RF. |

I'm sorry but I am going to have to disagree with 307. It sounds like you have something loose in line ie,coax,stud,antenna causing a slight short. I base my answer on the fact that I had a guy w/a pete 379 with the same problem we tightend everything up and went down the road wit the analyzer hooked up and there was no change in the s.w.r. As far as running 400 watts as long as you are running at least 8 gauge wire to the battery it will not affect any componets in the truck. I have hooked many 400's up like that with no problems. |
