can the dead key be lowered on these?

Don't the 949/959 radios have variable power to lower the deadkey? Or am I misunderstanding the question thinking deadkey watts vs. carrier power?

Alsworld, yes they do have variable output power, but stock it will only lower the deadkey to 4 watts. Adjusting the low power pot you are able to lower the deadkey.
