I live in a community with antenna restrictions and have to resort to an indoor antenna so I can operate my CB a little. I have some short attic space I plan to use. The peak height is 4' 6". I have a Wilson 4' fiberglass (forgot the model but it's their top-of-the line with silver plated wire). Maybe I should find a mount for it and some shortened radials? Does Copper sell such a pre-fab mount? Is there a better indoor antenna around?

N4ari,try a wire dipole cut for the freq, you want to use,thats if you have a non-metalic roof structure.It should work fine.

Not enough height for an In-V and it would not be verticle. Same thing with a dipole being all horizonal. Bad enough having a marginal verticle under the roof, don't need to have horizonal polarization characteristics too.
Saw some sort of radial hub system by Valor for $10 in the Copper catalog. Might try it. |

Do you have a metal air conditioner unit on the roof? A well concealed antenna is a magnet mount thin whip mobile (like the K40) on the A/C unit. Hide the coax and you will probably never get caught.
Oh, one more thing, KEEP IT LEGAL! Running illegal power will get you noticed fast. |
