I have a uniden66xl that is (DOA)
the coax got pinched and shorted out.
this radio has no recieve audio, and has no transmit. (transmit light does come on when mic is keyed,but nothing on the meter or no audio output)
I have replaced the final with a 2sc1969.
I am thinking maybe has a bad transformer or audio amp?
any suggestions? |

I would guess if the TX light is coming on during TX and you have no output , it may be the PLL , pending no RX either. Sounds like multiple problems. Can you look at the lock detector on the PLL and see if it is "High"? If it is high , that is going to be a good one to try to fix...(VCO?) |

a simple thing to check on those radios is the little resistor between the coax connector and the board. have seen them burn out and completely stump the best of techs. |

307, I don't know much about PLLs. Can you explain what you mean by "high" lock?
If the PLL ic must be replaced, does it need programming or anything special? |

High as in 5 volts not pulsing to ground. That will tell you if the PLL is in the Locked Mode which is good. No programming needed...
