I just got the radio and converted it for all bands. Turned up the mod and adjusted the dead key. I was talking on it and boom,no recieve and no transmit. My freq counter plugged in the rear was scrolling along around 23mhz or so. What could have happened?

Misprint on title.It is a 3900,duel final. Anyway,it seems to work fine when I turn it off,let it cool down and turn it back on. I only get about 10 minutes a talk time out of it before it goes back to same as above. Any help?
