Hello,
Do I need to buy a specific Scanner antenna or can I use this 11 meter Base Antenna?

You can use your 11 meter antenna for your scanner, but a scanner antenna would most likely give you better results in the higher bands. The VHF-LO band stuff `30-50 MHZ should come in quite well, less so with VHF-HI and UHF (150 MHZ and up). Your 11 meter antenna will definitely work better than a rubber duck or any other indoor antenna. BTW, 11 meter verticals make pretty good shortwave antennas, too.

You could also hook up a tv antenna. It's receive only so it won't hurt anything.
