AFTER TWO RV TRIPS I REMOVED THE CONNEX 3300HP AS BEING TO COMPLICATED TO OPERATE WHILE DRIVING.. TRIED A RECENTLY OBTAINED COBRA 148GTL (STOCK AND OLD SIDE MIC) AND AT IDLE SPEED GOT STRONG ALTENATOR WHINE.. REMOVED THE ANTENNA BUT WHINE WAS STILL THERE..REMOVED EXTERNAL SPEAKER BUT WHINE WAS STILL THERE BUT REDUCED A BIT... SO WHAT AND WHERE CAN I GET A FILTER FOR THE ALTENATOR OUTPUT?? THE WHINE WAS NEVER HEARD ON THE CONNEX...WHAT SIZE?? RADIO SHACK??? |

Radio Shack feed-through capacitor, attach bracket to a good ground, then cut red wire on plug of radio then attach wires to studs of cap.should do the trick, obviously somebody allready e-mailed you the answer. When will I ever pay attention to the dates of the posts. |

A good $30 noise suppressor will take care of that noise.......some of the older 148s have some bum noise suppressing filtering. I have 2 radios that have the whine on transmit and receive and the line filters eliminate the problem. |
