I have the klv mod 351p it was working fine till yesterday. Now when I turn the preamp on it only works for 1 sec then I hear nothing. If I key the mic I get sound for 1 sec only then nothing again.please HELP working skip in New Jersey with no preamp is not easy. with out the preamp my radio is all mouth and no ears. Thanks for any help you can give.

Well , I am un-experianced with the KLV line , however , do me a favor , when it is "DEAD" open the cover and tap on the relays , if it comes back or tries to come back , I can answer it for you. If it does not , replace the three small transistors in it. Not the "pills" but the smaller ones. These control the relay for TX and RX AMP...You can get them at Radio Shack for about a buck...
