I held a novice license in the 50's as WN5DXC. .-- -. ..... -.. -..- -.-. Is there anyway that I can get a copy of that license and where would it be on file. I think it was issued out of the New Orleans district. I have been out of radio for some time and I am thinking of testing for the General License. In the back of my mind--I remember something like being asked to transfer the novice to tech at some point. I had a chat room buddy that found the call sign in th ham call book years ago. Any help appreciated.

Report9448,

Try the link below:

http://wireless.fcc.gov/uls/

Then go to bottom of page and you will see "LICENSING SUPPORT"

Call this number and choose "Option 2" when prompted.

I checked your old call of WN5DXC and as of now it does not show it is issued to anyone.

I hope this will help you.
